Winding Down: Sept. 30, 2009

It's that time of year to start winding down the garden.
From top to bottom:
-Squash, beans, tomatoes and cucumbers are done and the plants have been removed. Some leeks and arugual remain.
-There are quite a few leeks stil in the ground.
-The grapes are ripening.
-In the upper right you can still see some oats planted as a cover crop. Plants in the center background are tobacco.
-General view with most crops removed. Note the amount of leaf mulch remaining on the ground. Yes, that is a small patch of the weeds in the foreground.
